So Amanda had some early labour / false labour, this last stormy weekend. All of our babies have come way yonder over due! So this was something that we did not know what to do about. This wasn't our first rodeo, yet the time of contractions, etc was saying.... get to the hospital now! So we decided to spend the night at Gimli Bible Camp. And after driving through the 'stormy, snow covered, monster drifted' roads to get there, i'm thinking we need to invest in one of these.....
Sorry to disapoint though, there's no baby yet! Hang on for another month or so...probably? But the warning shots were fired, and we're more ready now then we were. But you can all pray lots for us anyways! It's always a bit of an adventure being an hour away from the hospital. We are blessed though, to have many farmers in the area who have delivered many animals before....!
So as most people in Manitoba now, our land is super saturated! Amanda looked out into our pasture the other day, and was pretty convinced she saw whitecaps. It sure makes our farming life a little more complicated as well. It's tempting to trade in the tractor for a pontoon boat with a grapple arm. Both to feed the horses and pull them out of the swamp when they get stuck!
So life's been a little harder for us lately, but i'm more convinced then ever that God really builds our character in these times. That character building is so important because it helps prepare us for whats to come! And that's good news. Perspective is such a big thing. When I know of the great things that are to come, I'll take the hardships of life anyday. (Full disclaimer - I have not come close to doing this well yet, but my hearts yearning is in the right place!!!)
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perserverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5
Rest in HIM, he will pour HIS love into your life.
Did the horses really get stuck??
I want to change my guess for a girls name… Robin
