Trying New Things.... is what I do...

Well, time has gone incredibly fast, and yet crawls along, and is somehow slipping away to quickly, and I just cannot seem to wrap my head around what time is actually doing! Its been about a year since we moved into our house at Gimli. When I look at everything that we've been able to accomplish on the yard and in the house during that time period, it wows me!! Yet somehow another winter is almost upon us and I am scrambling to get everything ready for another winter.

Last winter we had the privilege of building much character during winter as we moved our very long commercial garden hose into the house every few days, so that once it was thawed, we could run out quickly before it froze again and fill up our horses' water trough! A couple weeks ago I installed a automatic heated waterer at Rise Again Ranch! We've had some amazing generous supporters who've blessed us with some extra financial gifts to help us complete small projects like this! So thank you!

So the installation process involved a lot of learning, and some apprehension afterwards. I'm the type of person who loves to learn new things and thinks that I can tackle most things in life. So what i've never operated a trackhoe, I can learn it quick! It was actually really enjoyable operating the machine, it totally is like an extension of you! Even our three kids got to operate it, that simple...!! BUT, like life has been, is been, and will always been... challenges refine our character. I hit extremely hard, hardpan at approx. 7 feet deep. I was really hoping to hit 10' to avoid any chance of freezing. Then there was a decent section that had super saturated clay that kept caving in on me.... so frustrating!! So a somewhat simple project of dig a big trench, throw a water line in and cover turned into..... buy insulation, cover pipe, install insulation, cover insulation, then fill trench. Please pray with me it doesn't ever freeze up!!!!

PS: We love hosting people at our place, so for all of those who are to polite to invite themselves over, you are invited to come visit us!!!!
